Cathedral of Santa Ana

The temple overlooks Santa Ana Square and is located in the old neighbourhood of Vegueta. The cathedral stands out for its various architectural styles: Late Gothic, Neoclassical and Baroque. A visit to its tower affords a panoramic view of the city.

Las Canteras beach

Las Canteras beach is one of the island’s favourites, as it hides a seabed protected by a natural barrier of stone and coral. A perfect place to practice water sports and enjoy the pleasant climate.

Locationsof interest

Playa del Inglés is a stretch of coastline that stretches from the tourist centre of Playa del Inglés to the south. It is more than three kilometres to the Punta de Maspalomas. It is one of the most popular areas in the south of the island due to its good climate and many accommodation options.

It is one of the most ideal places to enjoy a family beach holiday. As the beach gets closer to the Punta there are more surfing areas.

What to see and do in Playa del Inglés

  • A walk through the dunes: a walk from El Inglés to the Maspalomas Special Nature Reserve is without doubt one of the best options, surrounded by the famous Maspalomas Dunes, one of the wonders of the Canarian coast.
  • A day of fun: between Maspalomas Beach and Playa del Inglés, there is an amusement park to enjoy with family or friends and spend a fun day out.
  • Water sports: on this beach you can do practically any activity related to water sports 365 days a year thanks to its good climate. For example, renting jet skis, skateboards, windsurfing sails, surfing lessons or kitesurfing.

Puerto Rico is a small beach in the shape of a shell that belongs to the municipality of Mogán. Its golden sand and the tranquillity of the area make it one of the best beaches on the island for families. Thanks to the protection of its marina, it is a beach with hardly any wind and with good weather practically all year round.

What to see and do in Puerto Rico

  • Arguineguín: this small coastal fishing village is one of the essential visits if you are in Mogán. It has a small fishing port and the sunsets from this area are spectacular.
  • Mogán Beach Market: to get to know the local produce is to take a stroll through the Monday market in Mogán Beach.
  • A walk by the sea: walking and breathing the sea air is a good way to recharge your batteries during your holidays. Strolling with a view of the sea is a luxury in Puerto Rico.

Bahía Feliz is one of the most peaceful areas in the south of the island of Gran Canaria. Very close by are Pirata Beach and Águila Beach. Bahía Feliz belongs to the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana and is visited year after year by visitors who come to the island to enjoy their holidays.

What to see and do in Bahia Feliz

  • Maspalomas Lighthouse: it is the third highest lighthouse in Spain. It was built in the 19th century to guide ships coming from Africa and America. It is worth the climb to enjoy its spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean.
  • Maspalomas Botanical Park: it is the perfect place to spend a pleasant afternoon with the family. It has plant species from all over the world: palms, ornamental and fruit trees, shrubs, climbers, aquatic, horticultural, medicinal, aromatic and native to the Canary Islands.
  • Local gastronomy in front of the sea: a lunch in front of the sea is one of the plans for this area. Papas arrugadas (wrinkled potatoes) or fresh fish are some of the most delicious dishes of Canarian gastronomy.
